International Science Fair: Mentored by Kitty La Bounty and Marisa Chelius, two students won 2nd place in the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair (51 countries represented). Atlanta GA. Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi in Southeast Alaska Muskegs. Prize won: $1500.00 and had an asteroid named after them.
Elementary school – 100 students from Keet Gooshi Heen school.
High School – 60 students from Mt. Edgecumbe HS, Pacific HS, and Sitka HS.
Alaska Native Science Engineering Program (ANSEP) students from UAA spent 3 weeks doing research with the SSSC.
University of Hawaii – 6 students will be spending a week here in November working at the SSSC.
University of Alaska, Southeast, Fish Technology students will intern at the hatchery.
