The WhaleFest symposium offers a lineup of renowned biologists and researchers who will share their current findings and exciting experiences. Day passes or lecture punch cards are available.
Market at WhaleFest: The Market at WhaleFest runs Friday through Sunday, November 2nd-4th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at Harrigan Centennial Hall. Twenty exhibitors will be on hand with a wide range of art and craft items and non-profits information. The Market Café will offer delicious food during the event, proceeds to support the Baranof Barracuda Swim Club.
WhaleFest Family Concert: WhaleFest presents the musical duo Good Dog from Anchorage for a Family Concert Thursday, November 10 at 6:30pm in Harrigan Centennial Hall. Tickets are $5 per person and available at Old Harbor Books, at the door online at www.sitkawhalefest.org.
Sitka WhaleFest Cruises: Join WhaleFest scientists and researchers aboard an Allen Marine vessel for an educational whale watching adventure. Saturday, November 3rd & Sunday, November 4th leaving Crescent Harbor 9:00 am and returning 11:30 am. Tickets are $50 per person, per day and can be purchased at Old Harbor Books, www.sitkawhalefest.org.
WhaleFest Keynote Banquet: WhaleFest welcomes, Seth Kantner as the Keynote Speaker for the WhaleFest Banquet on Saturday, November 3rd at 6:30 pm in Harrigan Centennial Hall. Mr. Kantner is an Alaskan author of books “Ordinary Wolves and Shopping for Porcupines”. Tickets for this catered banquet and no-host bar are available at Old Harbor Books or at www.sitkawhalefest.org. Cost is $65 per person.
UAS and Sitka WhaleFest: Sitka Sound Science Center’s Sitka WhaleFest provides education at many levels; to life-long learners, local high school and college students. The University of Alaska offers a one credit course, Biology 175: Current Topics in Marine Research, for WhaleFest participation.
