Junior Curator Aquarium Camp recruits new aquarists

Lynn Wilbur, manager of the Molly O. Ahlgren Aquarium, demonstrates to middle school campers the fine art of preparing a meal for the aquarium residents.  The Junior Curators received instruction in aquarium husbandry, with topics ranging from seawater chemistry to conservation.  The students also participated in live video conferencing with Juneau’s Macaulay Aquarium and Seward’s Sealife Center, and shared their knowledge of Sitka Sound sea stars with curators from the New Zealand Marine Studies Centre during a live video chat.
